Metamorphic (2022)

Digital prints on acetate and vinyl, 3D print on marble PLA filament

Metamorphic is part of an on-going body of research that reflects broadly on the virtualisation and digitisation of the built environment, and the occurring material, dimensional, and spatial shifts. Using stock images of marble as the starting point, this series asks questions about marble and folding, as a geological occurrence, an aesthetic throughout art (drapery, veiling etc), and a process of generative form-making. By bringing together aspects of paper design, 3D modelling, photography and sculpture, the work explores these complex layers of time and space, and an overall sense of ’one-thing-becoming-another’.
